Athletic Therapy

HSC is proud to announce that we are offering Athletic Therapy services!

Athletic Therapists assess and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries, such as; strains, sprains, muscle imbalances, and concussions. Various techniques are utilized to muscle strengthening and joint health, including but not limited to cupping, graston/muscle scraping, muscle activation and release, and joint and soft tissue mobilizations. Following the treatment, athletes will be provided exercises to be integrated into their training program at HSC.

Offering this valuable service, is Taylor! She is a Certified Athletic Therapist currently working with the Camrose Jr. A Kodiaks during the hockey season. She also has her Diploma in Personal Fitness Training. Athletic Therapy is an essential component to rehabilitation and further developing your performance as an athlete in a variety of sports!

Baseball & Softball - Batting Cage Rentals

NEW TO HSC - SPRING of 2024!

HSC is proud to be offering Batting Cage Rentals! Our batting cage is 55 feet long, by 11 feet wide, for a total of 605 square feet.

This rental service is great for everyone of all ages and skill levels! You will be required to bring your own helmet, bat, and gloves, but we will provide the batting cage set-up, softballs/baseballs, L screen/C screen, and music! It is a great opportunity to work on your skills related to pitching and batting, related to speed, accuracy, and power!

Optional to include is a fitness trainer to support your strength & conditioning program for your athletes! Therefore, a 60-minute booking for your athletes would include 30-minutes of pitching and/or batting with your coaches in the batting cage, and 30-minutes of muscle activation, dynamic warm-up, and strength exercises that are tailored to baseball/softball.

Facility Rentals

NEW TO HSC - SUMMER of 2024!

HSC has over 7500 square feet of training space available to rent, including; 1680 square feet of turf, 1680 square feet of synthetic ice equipped with hockey nets, pucks, and netting separating individual shooting bays, and finally 170 square feet of a Video room equipped with a computer, smartboard, and desks!

This service is perfect for teams, groups of athletes, or groups of friends that want to get together for fitness training! Additionally, the Video room feature is perfect for coaches to gather with their teams for video review.

Goalie Development Packages

HSC is proud to offer Goalie-specific training packages!

There are a variety of training package options, including private/semi-private dryland training sessions, on-ice training sessions, and more! The training is geared towards improving your strength, endurance, reaction time, hand-eye coordination, mental toughness and preparation, and more! With the purchase of a goalie package, the athlete will recieve a custom "HSC GOALTENDING" backpack!

Offering this valuable service, is Daniel Moody, better known at HSC as "Moods"! He is a recent Camrose Vikings Alumni, and played all 5-years as the starting Goalie! He graduated with his Bachelor of Business Management and is continuing to pursue his love of hockey by coaching/training local youth goalie athletes.

Ice / Arena rentals (Private/Small Groups)

HSC offers Ice / Arena Rentals for hockey athletes looking for extra ice-time to develop their skating skills, to improve their power, agility, and speed!

In the 2023/2024 season, HSC offered "Before-School Forward Camps" and "Before-School Defense Camps" on Thursdays and Fridays at 7am, and intends to offer a similar service in the fall for the 2024/2025 season!

NEW TO HSC - SUMMER OF 2024!

Sense Arena- Virtual Reality Training

NEW TO HSC - SUMMER OF 2024!

Rated the #1 Off-Ice Hockey Sense training tool, that is effective in improving situational awareness, decision-making speed, and read & react skills!

For improving situational awareness, this training develops athletes ability to scan and survey the ice, to better understand your surroundings to better inform your ability to make an effective play. For decision-making, this training develops athletes ability to pre-scan prior to recieving a pass and delivering a pass. For improving read & react skills, this training develops athletes ability to identify cues (stick and body position) to anticipate your opponents moves to respond more effectively with a reduced reaction time!

Strength and Conditioning

HSC (which stands for Hagel Strength & Conditioning), Strength & Conditioning is at the core of what HSC offers to athletes and the general population of Camrose and surrounding areas!

HSC offers a variety of programs that have Strength & Conditoning integrated into the program, including our spring/summer/fall/winter hockey programs, morning fitness programs, and team training sessions. Each Strength & Conditioning program is comprised of a circuit including Muscle activation exercises, Dynamic warm-up, a variety of upper-body/core/lower-body exercises, and cardiovascular/conditioning exercises. Overall, the goal of this is to enhance athletes functional fitness while enhancing their strength, endurance, and power to operate at their best potential in their sport! Training programs can be tailored to a variety of sports, including hockey, softball, baseball, football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and more!

Team Development Packages

HSC is proud to offer a variety of different "Team Development" training packages to teams located in and around the Camrose area!

Team Development Sessions are typically 60-minutes in length, which would include a 30-minute Strength & Conditioning session comprised of muscle activation exercises, dynamic workout, and exercises directed by one of our certified Fitness Instructors. Additionally, it would include a 30-minute Shooting & Stick-handleing session comprised of a variety of stick-handleing and shooting exercises directed by one of our certified Fitness Instructors who all have a well-decorated hockey career themselves. However, it is important to note that this format is subject to change based on the preference of the coach/team (i.e.: 45-minutes of Strength & Conditioning and 45-minute Shooting & Stick-handleling for a 90-minute session).

For other team sports, Strength & Conditioning sessions can be booked with one of our certified Fitness Instructors, with the opportunity to bring your coaches or to hire a contracted skills-coach to direct your sport-skills session as well (as opposed to 30-minutes allocated to Shooting & Stick-handleing)! There is lots of flexibility in booking our Team Development packages.
